Update on Suit

This is an update on the suit filed against the City of Sun Valley, myself, fellow Council member Bob Youngman, and City Attorney Adam King by City Administrator Sharon Hammer.

This past Thursday, December 29, 2011, Kirtlan Naylor, the attorney representing the City and those of us named in the suit, made the following statement to the Idaho Mountain Express which appeared on December 30, 2011 at this link:

“Sharon Hammer has sued the City of Sun Valley, and the pleadings that will be filed in defense of this lawsuit will shed light on these circumstances. Only one side of this matter has been made public so far, so I would hope people withhold judgment until all facts are known.”

Greetings and welcome! I started this independent blog in November of 2006 as a communication tool to work along with my website. This is an opportunity to communicate with the residents of Sun Valley and with my friends around the world on all sorts of topics.

This blog focuses primarily on issues of the day facing the City of Sun Valley and those which affect our citizens and property owners. I also use the blog to discuss some of the lighter sides of things as well. Although I have been “blogging” since October of 2005, I am very excited and grateful to have my own independent blog in a non-commercial setting where we can keep the discussion focused on the issues of the day.

I was born in the Bitterroot Valley of western Montana, a first generation American. My mother immigrated from Sweden and my father from Switzerland. I grew up with the pristine mountains at my back door and came to appreciate and value the natural setting and all it gave us.

I first came to ski in Sun Valley in the early 1960′s with my family and came back almost every year after that. Like most of you, the natural beauty and sense of community lured me here full-time over 23 years ago. It is because of my desire to help preserve these values that I feel so strongly about giving back to the town I now call home.

My lovely wife of 32 years, Patti, is active in many community service projects. She currently serves as Chairman of the International P.E.O. Foundation Board. Prior to that, Patti completed a seven-year term on the state board of the Idaho State Chapter of P.E.O., serving the last year as President. In her free time Patti practices law.
